Cheryl Croce Cantafio passed away far too soon on June 18, 2025. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tito Cantafio; her father, Ronald Croce; her sister, Andrea Bevis; her niece, Lily; and her two mischievous mini-dachshunds, Augie and Thatchie.
Cheryl grew up in Norristown, PA, surrounded by her small, tight-knit family. Since the passing of her mother, Sally (Genzano) Croce, three years ago, Cheryl particularly valued spending every Sunday with her father. She also was a proud aunt, who bragged liberally about Lily's many, many accomplishments.
A 1994 graduate of Cabrini College, Cheryl received a Bachelor of Arts in American Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, followed by a Masters of Business Administration in Management from St. Joseph's University.
Cheryl and Tito knew each other in high school and college. Like the beginning of any good romance, their lives traveled separate paths for many years. But, like the best of all romances, fate brought them together again. Love bloomed, and they were married on November 13, 2010, which they both agreed was the best day of their lives. Since then, they spent almost every waking hour doing something together. Dining out or dining in, going to a movie, or popping one on Netflix-it really didn't matter where they were as long as they were together. Usually, their mini- doxies would join them. Cheryl adored them and they more than adored her back.
Cheryl encouraged Tito to follow his passions in music and inexplicably agreed to his having a drum kit which, believe it or not, she never regretted. Most recently, they enjoyed watching New Jersey Devils hockey and NCAA women's softball games.
By day, Cheryl was a Senior IT Business Relationship Manager with Tokio Marine North American Services, sharing her talent and enthusiasm for amplifying IT's people, story, knowledge, and culture. She was especially proud of her work creating their Women of IT's Employee Research Group.
By night, Cheryl was a creative force of nature. After the loss of her mother in 2022, Cheryl opened a Little Free Library outside her home in Sally's honor, sharing free books with her neighborhood. Wanting to do more and explore her creativity further, Cheryl penned her first book, My Stay with the Sisters, a collection of poems about the sisters, Grief and Gratitude, which she dedicated to her mother. This was followed by A Place No Flowers Grow, a modern-day gothic tale in verse. Her debut into children's literature was Barry and the Big Jump, a story about overcoming one's fears. She loved being an author and a poet, and she enjoyed meeting readers and local writers like herself at independent bookstores and author events throughout the greater Philadelphia region.
Cheryl co-hosted the podcast You Only Go Once, an exploration of the limited time we have on Earth to create a fully-layered life. It can truly be said that Cheryl created a fully-layered life. Whether throwing on a mumu for a Mrs. Roper Bar Crawl, spending hours creating the perfect appetizers and treats for family gatherings (not to mention her delicious lasagna), sending loved ones surprise gifts, knitting scarves and cuddly creatures, celebrating turning 50 with friends at Disney, fighting her way through a mud run, or just spending the day watching cheesy horror movies or Star Trek with her husband and dogs, Cheryl made every day a beautiful adventure. Cheryl was a smashing friend, giving her support, sharing her laughter, and spreading her joy liberally with the many people she loved.
Cheryl was a generous supporter of The Kindness Project, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (where she worked for more than five years), the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Zoe's House Dog Rescue, Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children, and the National Civil Rights Museum. She fiercely championed women's charities and female progressive politicians.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the
