Christine Krill Obituary

Christine (Mackiewicz) Krill, age 93, wife of the late Nicholas Krill, of Linfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 24, 1931 in Linfield, PA, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Smigelski) and Joseph Mackiewicz. Chris was a graduate of Pottstown High School, a school she commuted to via train from Linfield each day. She worked as a secretary for the Pennhurst State School and Hospital and the Southeastern PA Veterans Center. Following retirement, she remained a steadfast volunteer at the Veterans Center, running the canteen. Chris was an active member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Linfield since her baptism, and continued to practice her faith at St. Teresa of Calcutta. She was a CCD teacher, Girl Scout leader and was very involved in the church's Red Cross blood drives. Family was of the utmost importance to Chris. She always looked forward to hosting Camp Krill for family pierogi day on Palm Sunday, holiday gatherings, meals and getting the gang together for Wally World. Yellow jacket required! She was always ready to host a sleepover with the grandkids or share one of her exciting adventures. The lucky great-grands lovingly called her GG and she always welcomed them onto her lap for a snuggle. Chris enjoyed gardening and took great pride in maintaining her property. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune, listening to Polka music, finding a bargain at a yard sale, and playing cards and horseshoes. Chris was an active and involved member of several organizations, and often served on the executive board. A few of her favorites included the Limerick Township Historical Society, St. Theresa senior group, Chesmont Business and Professional Women, and the AFSCME Retiree's Club. Chris is survived by three daughters: Terry, wife of the late Stephen McCarthy, Vicky, wife of John Nimmerichter, and Linda, wife of the late David Granacher; ten grandchildren: Kimberly Weaner (Caleb), Cristen Clemons (Darius), Katie Hogentogler (Mike), John Nimmerichter III, Harrison Granacher, Dan McCarthy (Gillian), Hayley Granacher (Ray Bungay), Elizabeth Granacher (Aditya Verma), Tom McCarthy (Biz Yerger), and Nicci Granacher; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Joseph Mackiewicz and Jennie Rega. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Teresa of Calcutta, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Brant. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 8:30 AM-10:45 AM at the Church on Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the St. Teresa of Calcutta Church at the address above, to the Limerick Township Historical Society, 545 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick, PA 19468, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford, PA.
