Clara Nunez Obituary
Clara (Blanco) Nuñez, 86, of Lansdale, PA; formerly of Souderton, PA entered into rest on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Dock Woods Community.
Clara was the loving wife of Manuel Victor Nuñez for 59 years. She was born in Sagua La Grande, Cuba to the late Laureano Blanco Mesa and the late Clara Herminia (Aveillé) Blanco.
Clara graduated from high school and attended college in Cuba where she received her associate's degree in accounting/business. She was first employed by the former Granite Hoisery Mill in Souderton, PA and went on to work at the former Union National Bank (now Univest) for 29 years, until retiring in 1998. Following her retirement, she volunteered at Souderton Mennonite Homes helping with resident care in the skilled nursing department.
She was a devoted, faithful, kind, quiet, and selfless woman who had a strong faith. Clara was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church where she attended for over 60 years.
Clara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. During the summers, she enjoyed vacationing in New Smyrna Beach, FL with her family and friends. Her hobbies included: crocheting, needlepoint, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and decorating cakes.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Clara Nuñez Benner & husband, Kendall of Souderton, PA; her son, Manuel Augusto Nuñez & wife, Kristie of Collegeville, PA; her three granddaughters, Kayla Erin Clark & husband, Joseph of York, PA, Erika Nicole Benner of Phoenixville, PA, Estella Quinn Nuñez of Collegeville, PA; Grandson, Samuel Laureano Nuñez of Collegeville, PA; and her great-grandson, James Patrick Clark of York, PA.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her sister, Aleida Salgado Blanco; her brother, Augusto Renato Blanco; and her sister, Aida Amparo Iglesias.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut St., Souderton, PA 18964, followed by an informal visitation. The service will be Livestreamed.
A private burial will take place at Souderton Mennonite Church Cemetery.
