Claude Oesterle Obituary

Claude F. Oesterle, 63, of Fleetwood, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his home.

Born February 21, 1961 in New York City, NY, Claude was the son of the late Ida (Granwehr) and Eugene Oesterle. He and his wife of 24 years, Cynthia D. (Sayah) Oesterle, were married on March 18, 2000 in Haledon, New Jersey.

Claude was an Internet Technology Specialist. He worked for the Department of Defense, Lucent Technologies, and PPL. He also spent years working as an independent contractor in internet technology.

Claude was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, where he was very active in the church. He was a member of church council and also managed all of the IT and audio visual needs of the church. He was known to do anything he could to help the church from building new computers to changing light bulbs. In addition to his volunteer time at church, Claude was Vice President of the Fleetwood Grange #1839.

Claude was a graduate of the United Nations International School, New York City, NY and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in History from New York University, attended Rutgers University and then received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, and his masters degree in engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, graduating first in his class. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, and truly enjoyed working with computers, traveling, gardening, riding his tractor, and constantly working on home improvements. He loved staying up to date on world news, history and geography and especially cherished his kitty cats and many other animals.

In addition to his wife, Cindy, Claude is survived by his three children, Brandon F. Oesterle, Lansdale, Freya R. Oesterle, Fleetwood, and Diana A. Oesterle, Fleetwood, and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara E. (Halpin) and Robert A. Sayah, North Haledon, New Jersey.
