Colleen Wolkey Obituary

Colleen Wolkey Obituary It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Marie Wolkey (ne Gardenier) beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, who died on December 6, 2024. Colleen was 53 years old and was a devoted member of her community, known for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family. Colleen was a graduate of Strath Haven High School and later went on to earn her degree from Georgetown University. Colleen was proud to be a nurse and was always helping others. Her academic achievements and her commitment to excellence set the foundation for a life rich in personal and professional accomplishments. Above all, Colleen was a loving wife to her devoted husband, Ronald Wolkey, and a caring mother to her two cherished sons, Jose Dario (lovingly known as Jay) and Brandon Michael. She was deeply proud of her family and found joy in nurturing and guiding her children through lifes challenges. Her compassionate spirit, dedication to others, and ability to make everyone around her feel valued will be greatly missed. Colleens legacy of love, kindness, and integrity will live on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Colleen was the loving daughter of Donna Lee Beary (ne Hoover) and Micheal Eugene Gardenier, who preceded her in death. In addition to her beloved husband and children, Colleen is survived by her brother, Michael B. Gardenier, and sister, Brigitte J. Smith, nephews and nieces, cousins, step-parents, aunts and uncles and many friends who loved her as family. Colleen will be remembered with love and affection by all whose lives she touched, especially those she met through her dedication to Scouting and through nursing. A memorial service to celebrate Colleens life will be held on January 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. for visitation and 11:00 a.m. for service, with a light reception to follow at Heidleberg United Church of Christ, 1101 Cowpath Road, Hatfield, PA 19440. Colleen will be laid to rest at St. Anns Cemetery at a later date with a private service. A Mass will be held at St. Marys in her honor on January 5, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, in honor of her mother.
