Damien Nonnemacher Obituary

Damien M. Nonnemacher, 41, of Alburtis, died May 28, 2025, after battling stage 4 esophageal cancer for a year. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Rosemarie (Striny) Nonnemacher and the late Barry S. Nonnemacher. He was a 2002 graduate of Emmaus High School. Damien had worked as a landscaper for Lehigh County in the Parks and Recreation Department. He appreciated being outdoors, and loved planting and maintaining the flower baskets and beds at home. His love for trees, and the planting of them everywhere, was a deeply held desire. He was a member of the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club. Damien is survived by his mother, Rosemarie Nonnemacher; aunts Renée (Mike) Halm, Alice Welsh, Lorie (Mike) Thees, and Kathy (Keith) Diehl, uncles Jack (Dee) Nonnemacher, Terry (Martha) Nonnemacher, and a very large extended family of cousins, 2nd cousins and others. He was predeceased by his father Barry Nonnemacher, aunt Judie (Belton) Goff, uncles Tom Nonnemacher, Ron Nonnemacher, Bill Nonnemacher, Mike Nonnemacher, Tim Nonnemacher, Gary Nonnemacher and Kurt Striny. A celebration of Damien's life will be held on Fri., June 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation (arborday.org), or plant a tree in your yard in Damien's memory.
