On October 22, 2025, Daniel Webster Imbody Sr. entered eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 100, while surrounded by family. He was born on December 12, 1924, in Shanesville, PA. He is reunited with other departed loved ones, including Fern V. Imbody, his wife and soul mate of 76 years, his parents Lawrence A. Imbody and Mabel D. (Mathias) Imbody, Great Aunt Ada M. (Mathias) Weller, sisters Mary, wife of Nevin A. Miller, Katie Mabel B. wife of John Houck, June E. wife of Chester L. Marburger, brother Lawrence M. Imbody husband of Betty J. (Haas), still born daughter, and grand-daughter Tammy Swoyer. Lovingly remembered by his children: Eugene Imbody, wife Sharon; Christine Boice, wife of the late Charles Boice; Nancy Colegrove, husband Richard; Doreen Pasquel, husband William; Sheryl Anne Trout; Barbara Filosa, wife of the late Michael Filosa; Daniel Imbody Jr., wife Lisa; 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 20 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Most importantly, he was the patriarch of his family, beloved husband, devoted father to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. At the age of 17 left home to live in Detroit building airplane wings to support the war effort. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II from December 4, 1944, to December 20, 1948. Volunteered for the paratroopers, was attached to the 503 and the 188 Regiments of the 11th Airborne Division in the Philippines and Japan. The 508 and the 504 Regiments of the 82nd Airborne division in Germany. His fluency in German came in handy upon serving in the 970th group of the Counterintelligence Corps in Frankfurt and Nuremberg Germany from November 1946 until discharged from service. He loved to play cards and share war stories with any audience, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Retired from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company and Occidental Petroleum where he worked from 1950 to 1987.
