Dolores Burton Obituary

Dolores "Gert" Carr Burton, 73, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Leona (Makely) Carr. After moving to the Betzwood section of West Norriton as a child, Gert attended and graduated from the former Bishop Kenrick High School. She also attended the American Center for Technical Arts & Sciences, where she completed her studies to become a General Practice Paralegal. Over the years, she worked for Jacoby and Myers Law Offices in King of Prussia, Zulick Law in Norristown, and the Montgomery County Magisterial District Court 38-1-25 in Bridgeport. She was dedicated to her work and respected by colleagues and friends alike. A woman of deep faith, Gert served as a Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church and was a devoted member there throughout her life. She was also proud to serve as President of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 2 Notre Dame, where she celebrated her Irish heritage with joy and commitment. The Irish culture of music, dance, food, and tradition was a constant source of happiness in her life. Beyond her service, Gert will be remembered for her warm heart, sharp wit, and laughter that could brighten any room. She loved gathering with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother - she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Gert is survived by her siblings: Thomas "Tom" and Barbara "Barb" Carr of Lancaster, PA, and Elizabeth "Liz" Finnin of Wayne, PA. She is also survived by her beloved children: • Jason and his wife Diane of Lower Providence, PA • Keith and his wife Maureen of West Norriton, PA • Loren and her husband Jeff of Lower Providence, PA She leaves behind 2 grandchildren: Tyler and Carter Burton; and a step-granddaughter; three nephews, Thomas Jr., Christopher, and Brad; and one honorable nephew, Warren. Her family is deeply grateful to her dear friend Roseanne Brady, whose loving care and companionship were a true blessing. Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m., both at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave, Norristown, PA 19403. Her legacy of faith, family, and Irish spirit will live on in all who were blessed to know her. "May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back…" In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gert's memory to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Notre Dame division #2, 342 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.

Yesterday

Gert was an amazing woman, fun to be with, a contagious laugh. Although we lived quite a distance from each other we communicated by text or phone calls. Her Irish heritage played an important role in her life and she enjoyed participating in the parades. She will be missed and her memory will always be in my heart. May she rest in peace, no more suffering or pain. With love, Nancy
