Donald J. Gargiulo

Donald J. Gargiulo, 88, of Asbury, NJ departed this life on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Donald was born in Summit, NJ on November 5, 1936 to the late Anthony and Margaret Scibona Gargiulo. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy, entering in January 1955. He became a Sea Bee, stationed in the Antarctic, as part of Operation Deep Freeze. Here, Don developed his considerable skills as a heavy equipment operator. Following his naval service, he employed his equipment operating skills in the construction industry, forming his own business - Gargiulo Enterprises of Summit, New Jersey. Eventually, Donald founded Brook Valley Farm in Asbury, New Jersey, where he developed a thriving pig breeding operation. The annual pig roast on the farm was an occasion for large gatherings of family, friends, and neighbors. The event featured great food, outdoor activities, and pony rides. The pig roast provided all who attended fond memories of Donald and he will be missed by many. Donald is survived by his Loving Wife, Flora; his five Loving Step-children and their spouses; 16 Step-grandchildren; 32 Step-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Donald is predeceased by his parents; Sisters, Margaret Gargiulo Allocco and Florence Gargiulo Rosol; and Brother, Anthony Gargiulo. A Visitation for the Family and Friends of Donald will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am at Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Interment will take place in Bloomsbury Cemetery; Bloomsbury, NJ. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made in Donald's name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice; 99 Sparta Ave; Newton, NJ 07860.
