Judy,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Don´s passing. He was so devoted to Parkland that we easily became friends upon my arrival many, many years ago. His devotion ran much deeper than any that I knew as he attended countless events to support student-athletes. Many times Don and I sat at basketball games chatting through the event. I have vivid memories of our trip to Ann Arbor to watch a PHS player and then have dinner with him. Of course, Don took his camera and captured the action from the sidelines.
I will miss his kind words and gracious smile.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time
I hope you will find some comfort in knowing how greatly Don was admired by others, especially by me.

Judy, you picked a perfect picture. It showed him at a happy time and doing what he loved. Our sympathies to you and Chrissy. We are here for you.

I first met Don on the football field when I still ran handheld camera for RCN. We always stopped to talk. He then joined RCN for a couple of years and we got to know each other better. Once I told him abaoy my son´s t-ball team and how the parents hated the team photos taken obviously by someone else. He offered to come out and take the team pictures. The parents raved over them. Don refused payment and said he was glad to help. That was the kind of guy he was. After he left RCN, we would still chat when we saw each other at the games. I am going to miss that and him. Rest in Peace my friend!

I am so sorry to hear about Don´s passing and wanted you to know that you´ve been on my mind and in my heart. The loving and expert care you provided to him through every step of his illness was nothing short of remarkable. While many patients had to travel for dialysis, Don was blessed to receive not only professional treatment at home but the kind that only comes from a deeply devoted wife.
You´ve always been the picture of compassion and strength-caring for Don so selflessly, and still managing to be there for your 108-year-old father! I am grateful that you have been willing and able to pull yourself away from your daunting responsibilities to share a few cherished moments with your retirement friends at our monthly breakfasts. That kind of heart doesn´t go unnoticed.
It seems like only a few years ago John and I would see you and Don at all the home Pigs games as he captured their special moments. So many people owe Don a debt of gratitude for recording the very best of their lives! Please remember that your Parkway Manor family is holding you close during this difficult time. I admire you more than words can say.
With heartfelt sympathy,

Janice D
