Dorothy Mann Obituary
Dorothy Mae (Frank) Mann, 89, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 16, 2025, in Stewartsville, NJ.
Dorothy was born in Milwaukee, WI, on December 15, 1935, to Robert and Gladys (Yarmark) Frank. She graduated from Wauwatosa East High School.
Dorothy graduated from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee. Dorothy met her late husband, Carl, at a nursing and Army social event when he was stationed at Menomonee Falls, WI. They married on August 23, 1958.
In addition to raising six children, Dorothy volunteered nursing services at the Well Baby Clinic in Midland Park. She worked as an RN at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for many decades. She remained friends her entire life with her nursing school fellow graduates who called themselves The Robinettes.
Dorothy and Carl were active members of Nativity Church in Midland Park. More recently, she was a regular attendee at Island Bible Church in Beach Haven, NJ.
Dorothy, who was affectionately known as Dottie, was loved by all who met her. She had a bright, bubbly, and endearing personality. The Mann family households in both Midland Park, Stewartsville and Beach Haven were welcoming to all and were often bustling with activity. The Manns were members of San Jacinto Lake Club and spent many pleasant hours of swimming, fun and barbecuing at San J in the late 60s and throughout the 1970's.
Dorothy was an avid reader, expert scrabble player, and was well known for her red bun hairstyle and sleek outfits. Dottie loved the theater and attended many Broadway shows. She rarely missed a show at Surflight Theater during her summers on Long Beach Island.
She will be greatly missed by her brothers, Bob (Betsy) and Jim Frank; her children, Craig (Hope), Christopher (Tracy), Lynda (Geert Bos), Jonathan (Linda), Timothy, and Jennifer (Robert Eaton), her 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Dorothy and Carl helped raise their first grandson, Timothy (LT) Zabransky. Dorothy was blessed to live in the loving care of Chris, Tracy, and family for the past 15 years.
Celebration of Life with reception immediately following at Cornerstone Church, 495 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff NJ at 11am on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
