Douglas Bauman Obituary
Douglas James Bauman, 84, passed away peacefully on Aug 14, 2025 @ Gracedale Memory CareSection in Nazareth, PA. He was the husband of Catherine (Chiminec) Bauman, they were married onOctober 14, 1961 and this Oct would have been "64*wonderful years together!
Born July 10, 1941 in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late James Kresge Bauman, the late Dorothy(Palmer) Bauman Roeber and the late Arthur Roeber. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
Prior to his retirement, he was a self employed flooring installer for many years. He was co-owner ofBauman's Carpet Service with his brothers Michael Bauman & Martin Roeber. He worked many jobswith Sears Roebuck & Co. including installing & selling carpeting. He loved being called "MR B" byall his kids on the school bus for Stroudsburg Area School Dist. He retired in 2011, where his wiferewarded him with his 1st cruise to Bermuda.
Douglas was a lifelong member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Monroe County, but more recently with theTannersville Cong in Reeders, PA. He always had a way with words and could talk to just aboutanyone he met. He would share his love of Jehovah, God and also his favorite scripture @ Revelations 21:4"Where We Will See No Death Anymore".
He was a jack of all trades especially when it came to building things, fixing things, gardening, hunting (heeven built his own Hunting Condo out back to enjoy nature) he enjoyed his model trains, puzzles,making breakfast for family & friends. Those who knew Doug.. knew he had the "Gift of Gab" andloved spending time with family, friends & neighbors reminiscing about the good old days. Lastly, heloved all the dogs he had throughout the years, they were a constant companion to him all his life.
In addition to his wife, Catherine "Cathy" he is survived by his children: James Bauman & wifeDenise, Matthew Bauman & girlfriend Barbara Rowe, Roxann Bauman, Mark Bauman & wifeMelinda. His siblings: Sarah Roehrich (Emil), Martin Roeber (Linda) and sis-in-law Gail Bauman. Healso has cousins, many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Bauman.He was a loving & caring husband, father, sibling, cousin, uncle, friend, neighbor and will be misseddearly by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service only, will be held on 9/6/25 @ 2pm at the Signature Event Center 133 Erin LnBrodheadsville, PA 18322. Also being held via Zoom, please contact family for info. In Lieu offlowers, the family asks that donations be made to JW.org and or Alzheimer's Assoc.
