Eleonore C. Gosling

Eleonore C. Gosling, 93, of Grace Mansion Assisted Living at Holy Family Senior Living, Bethlehem died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at St Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the widow of Lester L. Gosling, Jr. who died August 1, 2022. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late John Mario and Angeline (Pontecarvo) Castellucci. After graduation in 1949 from Liberty High School, where she studied secretarial courses, Eleonore accepted a position as a secretary at Bethlehem Steel. After working there for a short period of time she accepted a position as a medical secretary working for the late Dr. Reno in Bethlehem. After the birth of her children, she became a fulltime homemaker. Eleonore went back to work in her 50's as a sales clerk at Josh Early Candies, Bethlehem. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Eleonore was a talented seamstress who made her own curtains and draperies for her home. A talented artist, she enjoyed painting and was a great cook. In the Fall of 2024, Eleonore was asked to sit for a photo shoot with her favorite canine friend Maverick for Holy Family Senior Living's marketing campaign. She and Maverick can be seen on a billboard in Whitehall going East on Route 22. After the death of her beloved Lester, she and Maverick became best friends. Eleonore's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Holy Family Senior Living for the excellent care she and her husband received while residing at Grace Mansion and for bringing Maverick into her life. Survivors: Son, Thomas M. Gosling and his wife Regina; daughter, Karen M. Gosling all of Bethlehem; granddaughters, Sarah Yerk and her husband Gregory of Bethlehem, Dr. Amanda Gosling and her husband Michael High of Shillington; great grandchildren, Alexandra, Abigail, Zachary, Elizabeth and Thomas. She was predeceased by her sister Marie Iampietro. Service: A private service will be held. There are no calling hours. Interment Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
