Elizabeth LaBar

Elizabeth (Dippre) LaBar, 84, of Stroudsburg, died early Saturday morning, May 3, 2025 at Sapphire Healthcare Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Martin L. LaBar, Jr. who died July 12, 2007. Born on October 1, 1940 in Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Foley) Dippre and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Liz was a long-time private caregiver working for many families in the Monroe County area. She was a lifetime Democrat and very active with the Democratic party. Liz was a member of the former Delaware Water Gap United Methodist Church and at one time was active with Monroe County Ladies' Fire Police, Delaware Water Gap Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Thomas P. Lambert Post 2540 Auxiliary, and General Ambulance Corps. Surviving are two sons, Robert Ryan and wife Mary of Stroudsburg and Edward Ryan III and wife Felicita of Mt. Pocono; four stepsons, David Williams, Terry Williams, Daniel Mark LaBar and Jeffrey LaBar; two stepdaughters, Pam Troy LaBar and Kimberly LaBar; a sister, Helen Fish; a brother, Richard Dippre; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four children Thomas Ryan Jr., Karol Sheffield, Patrick Ryan and Richard Allen Ryan; three sisters, Joan Stem, Marie Page and Lettie May Dippre; and three brothers, Paul Dippre, Robert Dippre and Ronald Dippre. Liz's life will be celebrated on Friday, May 9th, at St. John's E.C. Church, 6014 Custard Road, Stroudsburg (village of Bartonsville) where visitation will begin at 1:00PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00PM with Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Private burial will be on the family plot at Sand Hill Cemetery in Shoemakers. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to St. John's E.C. Church in Bartonsville. William H.
