Emanuel Vito

Emanuel Vito, a distinguished builder and contractor, passed away at 97 years old on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Emanuel was born March 27, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey to Salvatore and Infatima Vito. Emanuel proudly served his great country in the United States Navy as a young man. Upon his discharge, he met the love of his life Anna Russo, who soon became Anna Vito. Emanuel and Anna moved to Stroudsburg in 1955 where they raised a family of four children in a home that Emanuel built himself. That same home became his permanent residence until his passing. Emanuel was a talented saxophonist and always had a deep passion for jazz and Big Band music. He was accepted into the prestigious Julliard School of Music. Though he decided not to pursue a career in music, he continued to play and share his musical talent with his family throughout his life. Emanuel found his true passion as a builder. He thoroughly educated himself in the construction business and became a successful builder and developer in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Some of his local accolades being St. Matthew's Convent and Convention Building, ESSA Bank, Monroe County Courthouse Extension, Bath and Kernville Elementary Schools, Stroudsburg Middle School, East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church, and Bremerhoff Resorts at Elk Mountain along with many other commercial buildings. The pinnacle of his building career was Mountain View Terrace, a fifty home development project in Windgap, Pennsylvania. After retirement, Emanuel spent his days enjoying his wife Anna's amazing homestyle cooking and spending time with his family at their beautiful swimming pool that he built. He and his devoted wife spent nearly every weekend surrounded by family and loved ones until Anna's passing on July 10, 2005. Surviving are his loving children Diane Abadi of Kentucky, Salvatore Vito Esq. and his wife Rebecca of Stroud Township, Emanuel Vito DC and his wife Donna of Waverly, and John Vito and his wife Lori of North Abington Township. Surviving grandchildren include Serdar Abadi DMD, James Abadi DMD, Teadra Vito, Salvatore Vito Jr, Nichole Vito-Mellott Esq, Daniel Sienkiewicz, Christiana Vito, Christopher Vito, and Nicholas Peters. Emanuel was fortunate enough to have five great grandchildren including Jacob Abadi, Eli Abadi, Brooklyn Abadi, Ellie Abadi, and Lorenzo Emanuel Carl Vito-Mellott. Emanuel is also survived by his sister Jean Weismeth and her husband John, several nieces and nephews along with his companion Carolyn Brown. Emanuel is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Anna Vito, his sister Lee Muscucci and his son in law, Dr. Behruz Abadi. Services will be held on Saturday, September 20th at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA. The viewing will begin at noon, followed by a service at 1:00pm. Entombment will follow at the Vito Family Mausoleum located inside Laurelwood Cemetery.
