Emma Kuczek Obituary

Emma M (Sheetz) Repp Kuczek, 102, passed away peacefully at Fellowship Community on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Emma was the widow of Robert E Repp and Edward Kuczek. Born in Uhlerstown, PA., on September 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Marion (Severs) Sheetz. She was a graduate of Frenchtown High School. After jobs at Phoenix Clothes and Mack Trucks as a "Rosie the Riveter" (women doing jobs of men who were away fighting the war) she found her "home" at Sears for the next 31 years until her husband's failing health needed her attention. Emma was a kind and caring "people person" with a terrific sense of humor. She found joy in doing little things-most often things that would benefit others. She acted as a guide for the Blind Association members to Mall Walk. She was very active in the church-first at Dubbs UCC in Allentown followed by membership at St. John's UCC-Fullerton. It was at church that she really went to work- serving on various committees, baking pies and funny cakes, making soup, and cooking her well received rice pudding. She enjoyed crocheting and in her free time, would create poems for special people and occasions. Emma was an inspiration to others and will be sorely missed by those whose paths she touched. Private interment was held at Grandview Cemetery on September 11, 2025. Survivors are daughters Phyllis MacKay (Ed), Linda Cruttenden (Dan) and Cindy Repp wife of deceased son Robert D.Repp. Also, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and 4 step-children. Emma was predeceased by her brothers Oscar, Jr. and Marvin. Our family would like to thank the staff at Fellowship Community for the loving care Emma received while a resident there. Also, to St. John's UCC-Fullerton members for your many kindnesses

EMMA - What an amazing lady - a truly special person. I worked with Emma at Sears in the late 1960's and that began a friendship that lasted many, many years, even when we moved away from the Allentown area. When we lived in Florida and returned to the area for a visit with family, she even had a mini reunion at her home in Emmaus with some of the favorite people that we both worked with at Sears - loved it! When we moved back to the area from Florida, we visited her at her home at Fellowship Manor. She was as spry and lovable as she had always been. Phyllis (don't know you you remember me from our teen years) and Linda - you were certainly blessed to have such a wonderful mother. She will be missed by everybody and everything that she was involved with in life. She will be forever be one of my favorite memories. She still brings a smile to my face.
