Eunice Kearns Obituary
Eunice "Pinky" H. Kearns, age 95 of Effort, PA formerly of Bogota, NJ passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at her home in Effort, PA.
Pinky was born in Englewood, NJ on September 10, 1930, daughter of the late Thomas G. Jones and Katherine (Delaney) Jones.
She was the loving wife of the late Leonard Joseph Kearns who passed away on February 7, 2006.
Pinky had worked as a Unit Clerk at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ for several years.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert, PA.
Pinky had worked as a special education aid at Steen Elementary and Bixby Elementary Schools in Bogota, NJ.
We have been blessed with the presence of Pinky in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her children: Michael Kearns and spouse Patricia of Toms River, NJ, Janet Kearns of Toms River, NJ, Timothy Kearns and spouse Karen of Montville, NJ, James Kearns of Stroudsburg, PA, Patricia Urban and spouse Steve of Brick, NJ and Jennifer Gallagher and spouse Gerald of Effort, PA.
She was the loving grandmother to: Jason Kearns, Patrick Kearns, Meagan Kearns, Molly Gentile (Michael), Sarah Hurley (Ian), Julie Grayuski (Nate), Alison Garrowvillas (Aaron), Rebecca Meskill (Joey), Rachel Urban, Amanda Gallagher (partner: Jason Bravo), and Jasmine Fontanez and a great grandmother to: Gavin Kearns, Mason Kearns, Liam Hurley, Calvin Hurley, Olivia Hurley, Margaux Grayuski, Amelia Grayuski and Miles Meskill.
Pinky is also survived by her extended family Laurette Kearns, Zabina Kearns, nieces, nephews and many friends and her furry dog Penny.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Joseph Kearns, daughter: Kathleen Kearns, grandson: Paul Bodrato and siblings: Ensign Thomas Jones Jr., Audrey Popowski (Eugene), Evelyn Herr (John).
Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 9:30am until 10:30 am at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1426 Route 209, Gilbert, PA. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, PA.
Following the interment family and friends are welcome to join the family for a luncheon at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church - McCawley Hall.
Pinky will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at Buena Vista Cemetery in Brodheadsville, PA.
