Evelyn Shimer Obituary

Evelyn Mae Shimer, 98, of Bethlehem, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1926 in Bethlehem to the late Charles & Florence (Biery) Long. Evelyn worked as an aide at Visiting Nurses of Bethlehem. She was a faithful member of Christ UCC, Bethlehem. Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Harold E. Shimer and is survived by her children: Carol Shimer-Young, and husband Jim Young of Galloway Twp., NJ and Dennis S. Shimer and wife Andrea of Schnecksville, PA; grandchildren: Joshua Shimer (Lauren), Zachary Shimer (Sara), Cole Shimer (Kristina), and Kira Young; great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Reagan, Sutton, Carter, Caiden, Baker, Cuyler Shimer. Services: Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. A Public Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Evelyn's services have been entrusted to Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn's name to a charity of your choosing.
