Fernando A. Sonsini

Fernando A. Sonsini, "Fred", age 86, of Upper Gwynedd, PA, passed away on May 24, 2025 at Fox Chase Cancer Center. He was the beloved husband of Liliana (Santuccione) Sonsini for almost 52 years. He was born in Tocco da Casauria, Province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region, Italy on March 25, 1939 to the late Agapito and Mariannina (DiGregorio) Sonsini. Fred attended school in Italy and later immigrated to the US. He worked as a mechanic and established Fred Sonsini Motors, an imported luxury and sports car center, which was located at 445 W. Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting, PA, where he owned and operated for 42 years until his retirement. Fred loved his work and the people it involved, from his employees to his customers, Fred was always engaging people and enjoyed their conversations. He was complimentary to everyone and made people feel good about themselves. Family was most important and enjoyed quality time with them. Fred was a passionate fan of Formula One racing and enjoyed watching races with family and friends. He enjoyed good Italian cuisine made with love, and was a member of St. Helena Church in Blue Bell, PA. In addition to his wife Liliana, he is survived by his 2 sons Stefano Sonsini and Daniel Sonsini both of Upper Gwynedd, his brother Elio Sonsini of Massachusetts, his sister Maria Coletti of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Venia Galati and Carmela Cipollone. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9:30-10:45 a.m. with Words of Remembrance at 10:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Interment will be at a later date in his hometown in Italy.
