Frank McCann

Frank McCann, 72, recently of Hellertown PA and previously of Wyckoff NJ, passed away on December 23rd surrounded by his loving family. Born April 24, 1952, in the Bronx NY, he was raised in Bergenfield NJ as the eldest of nine children of Bebe and Frank McCann. A 1970 graduate of Bergen Catholic High School, he enrolled at Seton Hall University and earned a Masters in Theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary in Mahwah NJ. Frank's plans to enter the priesthood changed when he met Eileen Croker in 1972 while volunteering at Camp Fatima of New Jersey. They married in 1978. After working for years in home construction and remodeling, Frank dedicated his later career to building a more peaceful world through Social Justice Ministry. Most recently, he served as Peace and Justice Facilitator for the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace (CSJP) whom Frank and Eileen joined as associates in 2005 and made a lasting covenant in 2015. Frank is survived by his wife Eileen, his children and in-laws, Clare and Darrin Lenhart of Center Valley PA, Tim and Kelly McCann of Washington DC, and Katie and Michael Wechtler of Hellertown, grandchildren, Maura, Caelee, Theo, Eleanor, Danny, Nathan, Patrick, Ben, and Cara, sisters, Cathy and Ann Marie, and brothers, Michael, Kevin, and Dennis. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Tom, John and Terry. A celebration of Frank's life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Saturday, December 28th, at CSJP St. Michael's Villa, 399 Hudson Terrace, Englewood Cliffs NJ.
