Frank Smida Obituary

Frank G. Smida, Jr., 91, of Bethlehem, PA, surrounded by his loving family passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025. He was the husband of the late Joan A. (Smith) Smida. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Frank G. and Julia H. (Oravic) Smida. After graduation from Palmerton High School in 1951, Frank continued his education at Penn State University. After serving his country in the United States Army, Frank accepted a position at Bethlehem Steel working in the accounting department for 10 years. He then accepted a position in their human resource department, a position he held for 26 years before retiring in 1993. Frank also was a tax collector for Hanover Township, Lehigh County. He was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church. Frank enjoyed spending time at his vacation home at Arrowhead Lake with his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and many friends. The last three years he enjoyed vacations to Brigantine, NJ with his family. Frank loved his home at Traditions and all the friends he made there. He will be sorely missed and loved always by his family and friends. Survivors: Children, Thomas F. Smida and his wife Mary Ann of Harrisburg, PA, Patricia A. Graziano and her husband Frank of Clarence, NY, Kathryn A. Williams and her husband David of Bethlehem, PA; grandchildren, Andrew Williams and his wife Amy of Pittsburgh, PA, Emma Kantner and her husband Matthew of Titusville, NJ, Timothy Graziano of North Kingstown, RI, Jeffrey Graziano of Brooklyn, NY. Frank was predeceased by his parents, wife, Joan and son, Richard D. Smida. Service: Memorial Service 11:00AM Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem. A calling hour will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
