Gary Hoffmann Obituary

Gary E. Hoffmann, 66, of Jackson Township, passed away Friday morning, October 10, 2025 peacefully at home. Born on March 21, 1959 in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Warren and Georgina (Tuthill) Hoffmann and has lived in Monroe County since 1992. Gary worked as a machinist for New Jersey Transit where he enjoyed his 40 years of working on trains. He was a New York Mets, Jets and Rangers fan; and enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey shore; going to concerts (especially Bruce Springsteen) and attending his grandkids' sporting events. Surviving are his three children, Kristin Doughty and husband Matt of Henryville, Laura Palermo and husband Brian of Moscow, and Gary W. Hoffmann of Stroudsburg; and six grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew and Emily Doughty, and Cora, Madison and Jake Palermo. He was preceded in death by brother, Warren Hoffmann. Services will be held on Saturday, October 18th, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street with visitation beginning at 11:00am followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to S. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN 38150.
