Genevieve P. Carlton

Genevieve P. (Marchione) Carlton, 91, of Birdsboro, formerly of Schwenksville, wife of the late John M. Carlton, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 9, 2025 at Manatawny Manor. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Pauline (Novella) Marchione. Growing up in south Philadelphia allowed her to remain close to her grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins where her and her sisters created some cherished memories throughout their childhood years. Genevieve was the first female weather girl for channel 17 and then transitioned to modeling for John Wannamakers and Keds sneakers. In the mid 80's she became co-owner of an advertising agency with her husband John - they were devoted to their business however, found time to enjoy traveling throughout the US and Europe. Gevevieve was devoted to her family and friends and was an advocate for stray animals of all kinds. Supporting local shelters and spay and save efforts as a volunteer became a significant part of her life. Genevieve's memory will live on through her daughter Jonevieve Salamone wife of Charles Salamone Jr.; granddaughter Ellie Salamone; step-children Debbie Hankarian, Heather Riley, and Bruce Carlton; sisters Susan DiCocco and Diana Howard along with all her Nieces and Nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday October 10, 2025 at 11:30 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473. Visitation will be held Friday October 10, 2025 from 10:00-11:15AM at the church. We look forward to celebrating such a beautiful life and know that Genevieve will be with us spiritually moving forward. In memory of my mom we welcome flowers which can be sent to the funeral home for the services and or also encourage you to donate to your local animal shelter in her memory.
