Gerard Klauder Obituary
Gerard "Jerry" John Klauder, PhD passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2025. Born in Philadelphia on February 26, 1946 he was the loving son to the late Philip and Margaret Klauder (nee Cooney).
Jerry grew up in Oxford Circle and the Juniata section of Philadelphia and was a member of Holy Innocents Parish. From a young age, Jerry approached all tasks with conviction and gusto; he possessed a deep seeded passion for success. As a young boy he climbed the ranks in Boy Scouts and quickly became a decorated Eagle Scout, earning 50 merit badges. He went on to North East Catholic High School where he excelled in football. Jerry attended Temple University for his undergraduate studies for architectural engineering and building construction. Jerry was active in his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, serving as the house president. He graduated in 1967, qualifying for the Dean's list on several occasions. Jerry received his Bachelor's degree for architectural engineering in 1972, additional Bachelor's degree in business administration in 1976 and in 1978 he received his Master's degree in business administration all from University of Miami. In 1990 Jerry completed his PhD in management and administration with a concentration in construction management from Walden University.
During his early working years, Jerry became involved with the Construction Management Association of America where he became a founding member. He held various positions of leadership including membership, chairman, certification and board of directors' member leading to president. He was honored by the association by becoming a fellow and later as chancellor of the board of fellow.
In 1972 Jerry was employed by a general contracting firm specializing in building restaurants. He served in several capacities such as estimator, scheduler, project manager, and vice president. Jerry's undeniable aptitude and skills coupled with his ambition led him to form his own company in 1979, Klauder and Associates PA which catapulted him to continued success. His company was proficient in restaurant design and construction. Many of the restaurants we frequent today are the fruition of Jerry's talents and dedication. Jerry was also a licensed real estate broker in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.
Jerry was truly a brilliant man among his professional peers possessing countless accolades, but his true joy and success in life was being a husband, father and grandfather.
In 2009 Jerry married the love of his life and best friend, Linda "Lynn" Borger. Together they shared 22 years of bliss, traveling to many destinations, especially to their home in Florida and enjoying their growing families.
Jerry was a devoted husband, cherished father to Kelly Klauder, Tracy Koozer, the late Gerard Klauder, Robert Marshall, Danielle Carpineto (Joseph), and Timothy Marshall (Karen), doting Pop Pop to Nicholas, Bailey, Taylor, Joseph, Timothy, Connor, Ava, and Julia, dear brother to Philip J. Klauder, Jr. (Rita), the late Rev. Francis Charles Klauder (the late Lynn), Sallianne Tschoepe (Robert), and Mary Kay Crockett (William), uncle to many, and loyal friend to all.
In his free time Jerry loved to golf, travel and enjoy a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon alongside his wife family and cherished friends. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him. We find comfort knowing he is reunited with his son Gerard, his parents and brother.
