Hannah Karanink

Hannah Karanink, a beloved matriarch and beacon of love, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 91, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on April 12, 1934, in the lush countryside of Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Denahy) Sullivan. Hannah's life journey brought her to the United States, where she met and married her late husband, Carrol Karanink. Together, they built a home filled with joy, perseverance, and the laughter of children. She was a devoted mother to Carol Rooney (William) of Harrington Park, NJ, Victoria Morales (Luis) of Center Valley, and Kerry Sitarus (George) of Bogota, NJ. She was predeceased by her beloved sons, Terence and Charles Karanink, and her grandson Rashad. Her love lives on through her cherished grandchildren-Joey, Ryan, Alex, Anthony, Anna, Eileen, Catherine, and Kelly-Ann-and her great-grandchildren, Eden Harper and Bridget Rose. Hannah began her career at NY Long Distance, where she excelled as a telephone operator. Her dedication and warm personality shone so brightly that she was even featured on a billboard in the early 1950s. Still, her proudest and most fulfilling role was as the heart of her family, raising her children and her grandchildren with boundless love. Her passions were many-tending to her garden, the gentle rhythm of knitting, and the quiet challenge of puzzle books. Her hands worked magic with fabric-she kept her family dressed in garments stitched with love. Above all, she found her greatest joy in time spent with family, where her presence was both the anchor and the light of every gathering. The last of her siblings, Hannah now joins Daniel, Jeremiah, Mary, Margaret, Patrick, and Timothy in eternal rest. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with faith, heritage, and unbreakable family bonds. Her memory will live on in the stories, traditions, and love she leaves behind-forever held close in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA 18020. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday evening, August 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
