Deacon Henry L. Mackey

Deacon Henry L. Mackey, 90, of Palmer Township, PA, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at his home. Born December 7, 1934, in Summerville, SC, he was a son of the late Samuel Mackey and Ramere Cappers. He and his wife, Levie (Barr) Mackey, would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on April 12, 2025. Henry retired as a maintenance supervisor from The General Theological Seminary, Manhattan, NY, where he worked for 36 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed watching cowboy and western movies. Henry was a member of Refuge Church of Christ, Easton. He started his spiritual journey in the 1990's. He was baptized at the Greater Refuge Temple, New York City, and was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Spirit at Easton Refuge Church of Christ. He was named Deacon by the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ and appointed by the late Apostle William F. Cramer in which he served until his passing. His favorite scripture was Psalm 27. Deacon Henry Mackey was a good steward and faithful until he was called home. Surviving in addition to his loving wife Levie, are his four children, Debra S. Lemmon, of Atlanta, GA, Henry L. Mackey II and his wife Robin, of Summerville, SC, Samuel "Bert" Mackey and David Brumell, both of Palmer Township, eight grandchildren, Henry III, Tianna, Emmanuel, Danielle, Michael, Davon, Timothy and Tesh'awn, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Mackey. Services will be held at 11am Friday in Shiloh Chapel, 201 Brother Thomas Bright Avenue, Easton. Call Friday 10-11am in the chapel.
