Jacqueline Haskins, passed away on December 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 76. Born on July 15, 1948, in Philadelphia, Jacqueline lived a life marked by her unwavering devotion to her family and her passion for nurturing the young minds she taught throughout her career.
Jacqueline was the cherished daughter of the late John and Mary (Briggs) Thomas. She grew up in a lively household with her siblings Jean Halton, John Thomas, Jr., Janice Bryant, Sandra Johnson, Thomasina Price, Denise Thomas-Wood and Gladys Thomas-Tomlin and was predeceased by her sisters Mary Lassiter and Priscilla Cohen. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she instilled in them the values of love, kindness, and the joy of togetherness.
Her legacy continues through her beloved children, Marvin Haskins and his wife Michele, and daughter Angela Haskins. Jacqueline was a proud grandmother to Ashley, Kadeem, Alychia, Ahleyah, Kyeema, Daquan, Makayla, and Kyleeah. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren Khymeer, Amaya, Traleyah, Brayden, BJ, Ava, Kasen, and Deja, who brought her immeasurable happiness as well as a host of nephews and nieces.
Jacqueline dedicated her professional life to the care and education of children, working as a teacher in childcare. She had a magical way of connecting with children, guiding them with patience and a gentle spirit that made her a favorite among her students and their parents alike. Her love for children was evident in every aspect of her work, and she left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched.
In her personal life, Jacqueline was known for her love of fill-in and crossword puzzles, which she solved with the same patience and determination she brought to her classroom. She was an avid player of mahjong, and she found great pleasure in the simple joys of watching old westerns. Jacqueline was also a fan of modern entertainment, enjoying the vast offerings of YouTube and Netflix.
Above all, Jacqueline cherished the moments spent with her family. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively family gathering, she was happiest surrounded by the ones she loved. Her presence was a source of warmth and comfort, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 3 P.M. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 1 P.M. until time of the service.
