James H. "Jim" Fitser

James "Jim" H. Fitser, 82, died at his home in Allentown. Born in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of the late Harry and Doris (Thomas) Fitser. Jim graduated from Kutztown University with his bachelor's degree in education and received his master's in education from Lehigh University. After college, he went on to teach English with the East Penn School District for over 30 years before retiring. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association and wrote articles about the outdoors for various newspapers and magazines. Above all he was a loving father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren in their many adventures and activities. Surviving is his daughter Sheri Albert and husband James, daughter Lori Mattison and Mark Mattison, grandchildren Derek and Justin Mattison and Joshua and Sarah Albert. A calling hour will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday July 19, 2025, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Gary Walbert will immediately follow at 11:30am in the funeral parlor. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown.
