James Miller Obituary

James I. Miller, 79, of Ft. Pierce, Florida, formerly of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Longwood HCA Hospital in Ft. Pierce, Florida. He was the loving husband of the late Anne Miller with whom he shared 50 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2020. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Paul and Betty Miller. James proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Purple Heart. He was later employed as a truck driver in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area. After retirement, he moved to Florida to enjoy the warmer weather. James was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan and a diehard NASCAR fan, often watching and cheering on his team or favorite driver. James is survived by his children: Dean Miller of Waddell, Arizona; Dustin Miller of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; Darrell Miller of Warwick, Rhode Island; grandchildren: Danika; Abbey; Alec; many nieces and nephews and beloved friends. A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Private burial will take place at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. "A Vietnam Veteran has passed away today." Jim, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
