James Stento Obituary

James Gustino Stento, age 84, passed away on July 15, 2025. He was born in Binghamton, NY on August 25, 1940 to his late parents Laura and Gustino Stento. James is survived by his wife of 18 years, Carol Stento; his ex-wife Christine Stento (Muche) and their children: Lisa Reidy (Frank), James (Kelly); siblings: Frank Stento (Jaqueline); step-children: Yvonne Prevost (Bernard), Yvette Daniele, Erik Daniele (Dana); eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. After growing up in Binghamton and serving in the US Army, James lived in Norristown, PA for over 30 years where he raised his family. During this time, he also owned and operated Allied Typesetting in Conshohocken, PA. James was involved in many community organizations including Ambucs (American Business Club) where he served several terms as President and District Governor over his 50+ years as a member; local VFW and American Legion posts and several Italian-American social clubs. One of his favorite things in life was spending time with family and friends enjoying a scotch and telling stories. He also enjoyed watching old movies and listening to Sinatra. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Ltd. (329 North Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468). A viewing also be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church (838 Walnut Street, Royersford, PA 19468). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to National Ambucs Inc Conshohocken Chapter, or the Veterans Affairs Coatesville Medical Center.

James, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
