Janet E. Emery, 88, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Alexandria Manor in Nazareth. She was the beloved wife of the late Lester L. Fogel & Ralph R. Emery. Born in Stockertown, Janet was a daughter of the late Lawrence Smith and Gladys Smith (Smith).
Janet was a seamstress, spending a part of her career at Pioneer Sportswear. Later in life, she worked as a dietary aide at Gracedale Nursing Home, where her compassion for others shone brightly.
She attended Benders Mennonite Church in Pen Argyl, Janet also took on the role of Sunday School teacher at various community churches. Alongside her husband Ralph, she was active in the Aluta Lodge Rebekahs (I.O.O.F), fostering connections and friendships that enriched her life.
Janet had a zest for life and cherished the simple joys, including camping at Camp Charles in Bangor, playing UNO and Bocce with family and friends, and square dancing in her earlier years. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her children: Russell Fogel (Patricia) of Nazareth, Jeffrey Fogel (Brenda) of Nazareth and Faith Grigsby (Brian) of Maumelle, AR; grandchildren: Brandon, Daryl, Amber, Jessica, Tricia, Angelica and Amiyah; 12 great-grandchildren; In addition to her spouses, she was predeceased by a son: David L. Fogel; sister: Dorothea M. Foust and brother: Wilbur Laubach. Jr.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM in GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC. - 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place privately at Cedar Hill Memorial Park - Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
