Janet Faye Hicks

Janet Faye (Schollenberger) Hicks, 81, of South Coventry Township, PA, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at Reading Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pottstown, PA, on April 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Gertrude (Roberts) Schollenberger. Janet was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Johnson, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship. She worked for 11 years as a store clerk at Superfresh Supermarket and also lovingly babysat for several families throughout the years. She was a former member of the Gilbertsville Fire and Rescue Company and more recently attended Kissinger's Bible Church in Wyomissing. Janet found joy in attending Jeff Krick's Elvis tribute shows, trying her luck at casinos, going on cruises, visiting Florida, and sharing breakfast with family and friends. Janet also cherished time spent with her loved ones, especially game nights with her grandchildren, Jesse, Rachel, Justin, and Taylor. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Paula (Matt) Buckwalter and Sharon (Harry) Montalbano; her siblings, Shirley Yergey, Richard Schollenberger, and Stanley Schollenberger; her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Hicks Jr.; her sons, Gary Hicks, Dale Hicks, and David Hicks; and her siblings, David Schollenberger and Tina Brutts.
