I´ve known Jay since elementary school. I would often play basketball or football with him during recess. As a young child, he was always full of energy and charisma. He had a glow around him that attracted everybody. Jason never had trouble making friends and was always an ideal buddy in everyone´s eyes. I sat with him in lunch all of last year, where I had the opportunity to grow closer with him once more. The memories we made at that lunch table were remarkable. I remember all of us would play rock paper scissors to decide who would take the pile of our trays to the trash can, Jason rarely lost. He always knew what move you were going to make, and he never had to get his hands dirty. Most of us will never be able to comprehend the pain of losing your child. My heart breaks into a million pieces for everyone in Jason´s family. Not only his family, but also for his close friends who supported him in his last days and in his heroic efforts. We must all live for Jason. We owe it to him. We owe it to him to live a meaningful and prosperous life because that was the opportunity that was stripped from him. Be kind to others, and be thankful for the people you have around you. You never know when it will be the last time you see them. I´m sorry Jason. There is much love in my heart for you and your family. Please, rest in peace.
