Joan E. Finch

Joan Finch of New Hope passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. She was just 88 and wife for 49 years of the late Leon R Finch who passed in 2006. Joan was born in Elkins Park in 1937. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Polly Waters. Joan graduated from Cheltenham high school and earned her degree in business at LaSalle junior college. Joan was a homemaker and working mother with a successful career in couture fashion, buying and selling women's apparel at Mendleson's in Elkins Park. She cared deeply about her lifelong friends and enjoy time with them at the Jersey Shore. Joan was an antique collector and loved the hunt for a good find. She loved to garden and read while enjoying the breeze and view of the Delaware river on her private veranda. She is survived by her children, Leon Finch Jr., Sharon, Bradford (Tania), grandchildren, Max Finch (Brianna) Scott, Katie, and Ben, and great grandchild, Stella. There will be a Life Celebration service held for Joan on Tuesday April 1, 2025 at John F. Givnish of Buckingham Funeral Home, 4886 York Road, Buckingham PA 18912.
