John D'Anjou Obituary

John Maxey D'Anjou, 71, of Blue Bell, died Friday, August 1, 2025. He was the husband of Ruth (Griffith) D'Anjou. Born July 18, 1954 in Georgetown, Guyana, he was a son of the late George and Eileine (Austin) D'Anjou. Mr. D'Anjou worked as a professor at the Community College of Philadelphia since 1992. He held three master's degrees in microbiology, agriculture, and education and was a dedicated member of CrossWay Community Church, Willow Grove. John supported missionaries, including Pilgrim Overseas Missionary Society, and served at the Wesleyan Church in various countries at the district and regional levels. He also held the office of Interim Fisheries Officer of Guyana. His hobbies included cricket, soccer, fishing, badminton, and table tennis. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John M. D'Anjou, Jr. (Santita) of Grovetown, GA, Dr. Leslie D'Anjou (Angellicia) of Goodyear, AZ, and Major James M. D'Anjou (Kessa) of Vacaville, CA; six grandchildren, John III, Ezra, Johanna, Avyannah, Levi, and Eliana; and three sisters, Eunice D'Anjou of Staten Island, NY, Hannah D'Anjou of Fayetteville, NC, and Abigail D'Anjou of Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, including Ruth and Esther. Relatives and friends may call between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025 at CrossWay Community Church, 3805 Mill Road, Willow Grove. A second visitation will begin 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9 at church followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
