John Longacre Obituary

John Paul Longacre, age 84, of Parker Ford, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Spring City, he was the son of the late Mary "Gehman" and Isaac Longacre. John will be remembered for being a hard worker and missed for all the time he made to help others. He retired early to care for his handicapped son, Jonnie, until his son passed away at age 54. John worked for Harold Trego as an excavator, operating heavy equipment for most of his career. Using his equipment experience he was able to clear his property and build his own home. In John's spare time he enjoyed woodworking, making many beautiful gifts for others. His passion was flying, though. At a young age he started with building model airplanes and flying them. Eventually, with his love of speed and performance, he built one that he could fly in, a Cassett Formula One Racer. John is survived by his son, Jeff Longacre, and his siblings, Vernon Longacre, Arlene Starkey, Helen Shoap, and Andy Longacre. He was preceded in death by his parents Isaac Longacre, Mary "Gehman" Longacre, his two sons, Eric S. Longacre, Jonnie P. Longacre Jr., and his sister Dorothy Weaver. A celebration of John's life will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home.
