John Stacy Obituary

John (Jack) Stacy, age 72, of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on July 22, 2025. Jack was the loving husband of Maureen Wiedmayer Stacy for 42 years, devoted father of John (Corinne Schnee) and Andrew (Emmy Gurka), supportive father figure of Gabby and Lizzy Stacy, and beloved brother of Marcia Stacy. He was predeceased by his beloved parents Robert (Bob) and Callie Stacy, and his sisters Janet Stacy, Miriam Stacy, and Faith Stacy (in infancy). He graduated from George Washington High in Philadelphia in 1971 and later studied at American University where he received his education in tax preparation and financial planning. During his early career he worked as an account executive at International Computaprint Corporation (ICC), which later became Reed Technology. His second career was in tax preparation and financial consulting where he was a Chartered Financial Consultant with Cetera Financial Services. Jack, also known to many as Manhattan Jack, enjoyed life's simple pleasures. As a young man, Jack took pleasure in playing tennis with Maureen and soccer with his life-long friends. In his later years he looked forward to golfing with his two sons. Being a music lover himself, he made sure to reserve Thursday night for enjoying the local music scene. Jack was the director of travel soccer for over ten years, dedicating himself to making Harleysville Football Club into a premier soccer organization. He spurred on growth by recruiting and mentoring coaches and trainers, gaining access to more facilities, and connecting the right people. He was a member of the Upper Salford Park Board, where he successfully drove to increase the number of playing fields for the community. Now 12 years strong, he also worked to establish the Summer Concert Series in the Upper Salford Park where he organized the concerts every year including the 2025 schedule. Jack was a kind and generous soul; his presence will be greatly missed to all that had the chance to know him. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at the Mainland Golf Club (2250 Rittenhouse Road in Harleysville, PA) on Sunday, August 10th. Visitation with the family starts at 10am, followed by a service and a luncheon. Please bring your favorite Jack story or instrument to share a tune, as the family would like this to be a true celebration of Jack's robust life. Maureen, John, and Andrew would like to extend their gratitude for all the love and support they have received at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Upper Salford Summer Concert Series fund, so that Jack can continue his support of live music in the community for years to come. Donations via Venmo or check. Check payable to Maureen Stacy. Key Bank c/o Upper Salford Summer Concerts, 278 Main Street Harleysville, Pa 19438 Venmo @Jack-Stacy-Memorial
