Joseph Jorda Obituary

Joseph F. "Joe" Jorda, 84, of Bangor, PA, passed away on September 16, 2025, at Monroe County Hospice House in East Stroudsburg, PA. Born on April 3, 1941, in Buttonwood, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Bertha (Kowalczyk) Jorda. Joe was a devoted husband to Joan (Wilmott) Jorda, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage last May. He was a loving father to his son, Jonathan J. Jorda, and cherished his eight grandchildren: Omar, Bassim, and Sarah Ibrahim, Joshua, Nathan, Bentley, Abigail, and Avery Jorda. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Jorda, husband of Alice Jorda, and his sister, Elaine Rosetti. He was predeceased by his daughter, Hope Jorda. Joe earned his Associates Degree from Taylor Institute and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Computer Programmer at various companies until his retirement in 2005. A lifetime member of the VFW in Cedar Grove, NJ, Joe had a passion for collecting antique guns. He was a faithful member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church in Martins Creek, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, September 20th at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, 6658 School St., Martins Creek, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on the same day at James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Church Hill Cemetery in Martins Creek, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blood Cancer United, PO Box 98011, Washington, DC 20090 or the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center, 181 E Brown St, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
