With heavy hearts we announce that Judith Neubauer Worsley, 70, died peacefully at home on Monday, June 2, 2025. She was surrounded by loved ones. Up until her last moments, Judith continued to valiantly battle the aggressive brain tumor that she fought these past 4 years.
Judith was born November 30, 1954 to the late Reverend Glenn Neubauer and Elisabeth Farber Neubauer in Easton, PA. She was raised in Wilson and graduated from Moravian Academy and the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1976 with a BS degree in Physical Therapy.
She met her husband, Dr. John Carl Wilson Worsley, Jr at the University Lutheran Church on campus and they were married October 15, 1977. They set down roots on Landis Mill Road in 1979 where they later raised their beloved children.
She was a Physical Therapist at The Allentown Sacred Heart Hospital Center (now LVHCC). She then worked at The Allentown State Hospital before leading the therapy department at Valley Manor Nursing Home. She later became a regional manager with Novacare, specializing in Geriatric Healthcare and Therapy. She managed to work a fulltime schedule while still often volunteering as class parent.
She was a dedicated dentist's wife and a passionate advocate for dental health, serving on the PDA Government Relations Council for many years. She was an active member of the Alliance to the American Dental Association and lobbied on both the state and national levels to promote dental education and passionately advocate for fluoridation of public water systems. She served as the President of the Alliance to the Pennsylvania Dental Association. She was especially proud to serve the annual Mom-N-Pa Mission of Mercy dental events in Allentown and Reading to provide a 2-day clinic to those in need. She found great joy in the connections and lasting friendships made in the dental world.
Judith was a loving steward of life and provided a listening ear (and the returning commentary) to all. Despite her many accomplishments, her greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted daughter and caretaker to both sets of parents, loving wife, a fiercely proud mother, and even prouder Gramsey. She was a loyal friend and especially loved driving a golf ball "straight and long" on the fairway with her golfing buddies. She loved traveling to locations both familiar and unknown and found special meaning in taking her children to decennial performances of the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany. She was an avid home cook and baker known for her impeccable "proper" birthday cakes. Her joie de vivre was contagious and her feisty spirit will live on in all those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of almost 48 years; daughter Gretchen Elisabeth Worsley Fontier and wife Alice Fontier of New York City; son John Carl Wilson Worsley, III and wife Katherine Gates Worsley residing in Leesburg, VA; beloved grandson André James Worsley Fontier; brother the Rev. G. Randall Neubauer and wife Carmen Neubauer; sister-in-law the Rev. Dr. Beth Neubauer Howe; brother-in-law Frank Kovacs; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and sister Nancy Elisabeth Neubauer Kovacs.
A memorial service will be held at United Fellowship Lutheran Church at 2115 Washington Boulevard, Easton, PA 18042 (formerly Good Shepherd Lutheran Church) at 9:30 a.m. Saturday June 21, 2025. A local reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to the
Glioblastoma Foundation (glioblastomafoundation.org) to further research and help find a cure; or another preferred charity. Arrangements are entrusted to Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
