Julissa Berdeja

Julissa Berdeja, aged 21, of Bensalem, PA, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2025, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted daughter of George and Melissa Berdeja. Julissa She was the loving sister of George Joseph Berdeja, Stephanie M Berdeja, Xavier Berdeja Sr. & Jurysellis Colon Berdeja. She will be sadly missed by her nieces Levy and Yarisel, nephews Noah and Xavier Jr., and a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and by all who knew her. Julissa, affectionately known as " Juliss, Munchkin, China & JuJu" was a cornerstone of her family, playing an integral part of the family. Her impact on their lives is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to thrive through the generations she touched. She was a dedicated Special Needs Teacher at Alvin Swenson High School in Philadelphia; her compassion and love for her students will be missed by many. She was also an accomplished Esthetician. Her reliability and unwavering support made her a cherished friend to many. Outside of her work and caregiving, Julissa enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She had a passion for enjoying life; travelling to beautiful places; such as Puerto Rico, and Turks and Caicos. Julissa loved spending time with her family, her nieces & nephews that she always called her babies dancing, playing & making endless videos with them. She adored & enjoyed spending time with her Fur Baby Princess that she would call her daughter. She enjoyed being with her friends, dancing, listening to music and going to concerts. Throughout her life, Julissa shared a profound bond with people, she would light up a room with her presence. But above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her warm embraces, her thoughtfulness, comforting words, and genuine smiles will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. A Life Celebration will be held in honor of Julissa on Sunday, April 6th, at the John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home located at 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. from 5:30 PM to 8:30PM and on Monday April 7th from 10am until time of service. Her interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Julissa's legacy of love, compassion, thoughtfulness and unwavering support will continue to shine brightly through her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
