Kent E. Shortell

Kent E. Shortell, 88, of South Whitehall Twp., passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, in Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Susan J. (Wiltraut) Shortell. They would have celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on July 27, 2025. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John and Lillian (Stanborough) Shortell. Kent was a graduate of Bethlehem H.S. He was a US Army veteran. Kent began his career as a Coal Petrographer for Bethlehem Steel Research. He later worked for Bethlehem Corporation in Easton and then retired from RE/MAX Real Estate in Allentown. Kent was a manager for North West Little League for many years. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling. Kent loved traveling to Disney World, Myrtle Beach, Rehoboth Beach and Ocean City, MD. Most of all, Kent loved spending time with his family, watching sporting events and attending his grandchildren's activities. Kent attended activities and services at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield. Survivors: Wife, Susan; Children: Douglas K. Shortell and his wife Lori of Upper Macungie Twp., Jeffrey S. Shortell and his companion Lynny West of Bethlehem, David J. Shortell and his wife Jennifer of Northampton, Jennifer L. Reed and her husband Dion of Upper Macungie Twp., Anthony J. Sarko and his wife Sherry of Upper Macungie Twp.; Grandchildren:12; Great-grandchildren: 8; Brothers: Rev. Bruce Shortell and his wife Caroline of Atlanta, GA, Robert Shortell of Kansas City, MO. Services: 11 am Thursday, July 17, 2025, Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown 18106, with a viewing from 10 -11 am Thursday in the funeral home. .
