Kurt A. Evans

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kurt A. Evans, 67, of East Stroudsburg, at his home on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Born on March 18, 1958 in East Stroudsburg, Kurt was the son of the late Darwin and Barbara (Wismer) Evans and was lovingly raised by his mother and his late stepfather, Richard K. Van Why. Kurt was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Kurt is lovingly remembered by his sister, Constance "Connie" Staples (wife of the late Lyle), his brother, Brigadier General Retired Thomas P. (Tom) Evans and wife Suki of Columbus, NJ; two nieces and one nephew; and one great niece and four great nephews. An avid sport fan, Kurt enjoyed playing and watching sports throughout his life. He played softball in the Shawnee and Twin Boro Leagues, was a long -time member of the Monroe County Pool League, and participated in several golf leagues over the years. In earlier years he worked at Hughes Printing and McGraw Edison and more recently found joy working as a golf course Greenskeeper at Mount Airy, Mountain Manor, Innisbrook (FL), and Pine Crest Country Club in Mt. Pocono. Kurt will be remembered for his kindness and genuine care for others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg. William H. Clark Funeral Home, Inc.
