Larry Hilbert Obituary

Larry Lee Hilbert, 73 of Emmaus, PA, formerly of Whitehall, PA, passed away unexpectedly with his wife by side on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest Campus, Allentown, PA. Born May 29, 1952 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Robert P. Hilbert and the late Erma E. (Oplinger) Hilbert. He was the husband of Patricia (Nush) Hilbert with whom he would have shared 47 years of marriage this August 5, 2025. Larry was a 1972 graduate of Whitehall High School, who pursued a career as an auto mechanic for various stations throughout the greater Lehigh Valley for over 20 years, last caring for customers auto's at A&E Auto Service Center, Allentown, PA until retiring in 2018. After retiring, he worked part-time for Weis Markets, Schnecksville, PA as a Stock Associate. Larry was a antique car enthusiast especially towards Chevrolets. He also enjoyed trains of all kinds, traditional country music, and recycling of metal. Larry served his country in the U.S. Army as a SP/4 during the Vietnam War. Surviving along with his wife Pattty is a sister, Donna M. Kogler and husband James of Spring Hill, FL. A Graveside service with military honors will be held privately for family at Fairview Cemetery, Northampton, PA 18067. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with his care and arrangements. "A Vietnam Veteran has passed away today." Larry, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow war veteran.
