Lena H. Benson

Lena H. Benson, 86, formerly of Easton, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, in Easton Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born October 9, 1938, in Crumpler, WV, she was a daughter of the late Grat and Nettie (Williams) Hawthorne. Lena graduated from Elkhorn High School. She retired as an aide from Spring Garden Children's Center, Easton. Lena enjoyed artwork and crossword puzzles. Surviving are eight children, Jeffrey A. Benson and his wife Barbara, of Easton, Ruth A. Benson and her companion Steve, of Easton, Terry L. Benson and his wife Shonta, of Christiansburg, VA, Australia Benson, of Easton, Anthony L. Benson, of Oklahoma, Christopher Benson and his wife Angela, of Charlotte, NC, Rodney Benson, of Pueblo, CO, and Renee Brown and her husband Anrickca, of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Barbara Barner, of Houston, DE, and Olivia "Bookie" Townes, of Brooklyn, NY; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, George R. Benson, Jr., a daughter, Tawanna Benson, a brother, Albert Hawthorne, two sisters, Veronica Harris and Pearl Hewitt, and two grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Benson, Jr. and Breanna Benson. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, December 21st, in Shiloh Chapel, 201 Brother Thomas Bright Avenue, Easton. Call Saturday 10-11am in the chapel.
