Lois Hood Obituary

Lois A. Hood, of White Bear Dr., Summit Hill, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the age of 89 at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lehighton. She was the wife of the late William J. Hood who passed away on Oct. 18, 2021. Born in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Anna (Koenig) Bachert. She was a graduate of Tamaqua High School, Class of 1954. Lois worked at the former Morgan Knitting Mills in Hometown. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical UCC Church in Mahoning Valley. Surviving are her Children, Billy Hood and his wife Lisa Lapos-Hood of Summit Hill, Pauline Hawk and her husband Mark of Summit Hill and Karen Otto of Lehighton; Grandchildren, Michael Hood, Sarah Hood, Taylor Haldeman, Nicole Hawk Wolford, Stephanie Hawk Anderson and Tiffany Hawk Fischer; Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Benjamin, William, Magnus, Anja, Eli and Liam; Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by a Brother, Norman Bachert and Sister, Vivian Hill. Services private at the convenience of the family. Contributions, in her memory may be made to the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St., Nesquehoning, PA or to Carbon County Friends of Animals, 77 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe, PA. Funeral Arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill, PA. Online Condolences may be shared at www.parambofh.com.
