Lorraine Edna Snyder, a cherished beacon of warmth and family devotion, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 96 in Bethlehem, PA at St. Luke's Hospice House. Born on February 9, 1929, in Mount Carmel, PA, Lorraine's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joy of human connection.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Elwood P. Snyder, in December 1997, Lorraine was the heart and soul of her family. She was born to the late Thomas Earl Rowe and Ida (Becker) Rowe and was the sister to a brother and three sisters who preceded her in passing.
Lorraine's legacy continues through her loving son, Paul Elwood Snyder of Bethlehem, her devoted daughter, Debra Lynne Correll of Gloucester, NC, and her cherished grandson, Michael D. Correll. Her memory will also be treasured by her many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, who found in her a constant source of support and affection.
A proud graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Lorraine's spirit of service and work ethic shone brightly throughout her life. For over 25 years, she greeted customers with a smile as a cashier at George's Foodliner, where her kind-hearted nature made her a favorite among both colleagues and patrons. Even after retiring, her presence remained a fond memory for those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lorraine was a people person through and through, finding her greatest joy in the company of others. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and she was the glue that held the generations together with her love, wisdom, and the occasional gentle nudge towards togetherness.
Her faith and community involvement were pillars of her life. As a charter member of the Church of the Manger in Bethlehem, Lorraine's faith was a source of strength and inspiration until the church's closing. She embodied the spirit of the congregation, extending her caring nature to all those within her church family.
Lorraine's interests reflected her passion for life and people. She was a radiant presence at family gatherings, her laughter and stories enriching every occasion. Those who knew her will remember Lorraine's ability to make even the simplest moments special with her attentive listening, sage advice, and unconditional love.
As we bid farewell to Lorraine Edna Snyder, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
