Louis Andreadis Obituary

Louis Andreadis, age 83, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at Slate Belt Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bangor, Pennsylvania. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on September 10, 1941. After graduating from Wilbur Cross High School, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. A man of deep faith and service, he was a longtime parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, where he and his wife led the youth group and taught PreCana classes together, guiding both teens and engaged couples with compassion and care. He also served as a Big Brother while living in Arizona and later volunteered with the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad. He earned his degree from the University of New Haven in 1971 and later graduated from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona. He built a long and loyal career with The Star-Ledger before retiring. Even after retirement, he continued working as a cheesemonger at ShopRite in Little Falls, NJ, where he shared his knowledge and passion for food with others. He had a deep love for this country and a strong belief in its true ideals. He enjoyed a good cigar and bourbon, and expressed his creativity through writing, woodworking, and a signature sense of humor that brought daily laughter and light to those around him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Andreadis; his children Christopher Andreadis (and wife Natascha, and their children Gianna and Alexander), Alyssa Andreadis (and her children Madelyn, Nathan, and Owen), Matthew Andreadis, and Anthony Andreadis (and wife Amber, and their children Xander and Xavier, and Amber's daughter Ava) and sister Helen Vollono (and her husband Vincent and their childen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Claudina Andreadis. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, community, and all those whose lives he touched with his generosity, wisdom, humor, and warmth. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Luke, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Spina Bifida Association in honor of his grandson, Owen, who lives with spina bifida. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. pulafuneralhome.com To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Louis R. Andreadis, please visit our floral store.
