Louis P. Rio

Louis Peter Rio, 91, of Conshohocken, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. Born on July 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Giacomo Rio and Josephine (Polsinelli) Rio. Louis was the beloved husband of the late Sara (Constanzo) Rio. The two were married on October 10, 1954, and shared many devoted years together before her passing. Louis attended Conshohocken High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was discharged on November 8, 1951, and carried the values of service, dedication, and perseverance throughout his life. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver for Bethel Construction, where he was a valued member of the team. Family was always at the center of Louis's life. He is survived by his daughters, Sandi Billings (Wade) of Hartselle, Alabama and Mary Laverty (James) of Pennsylvania. He was the proud grandfather of Brandon Johnson of Florida, Brittany Dragan of Alabama, Nicole Laverty of Pennsylvania, and Christopher Laverty of Pennsylvania, and the cherished great-grandfather of ten. Louis also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jeremy Johnson; his brothers Ralph, Dominic, Rudolph, and Peter; and sisters Sarah Neve, Connie Yannessa, Ann Fazio. Louis will be remembered for his love for family and the kindness he showed to many. A private graveside service will be held at St. Matthew Cemetery in Conshohocken, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Sara.
