Louise Raia, a beloved matriarch and friend, of Bangor, formerly of Staten Island, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Upper Nazareth Township. She was 90. Louise was the wife of the late Joseph Raia with whom she shared 37 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1992.
Born in Manhattan, Louise was a daughter of the late Vito and Anna (Espelito) Campagna. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan, and Northampton Community College where she earned an Associate degree. Louise began her career on Wall Street, where she met her husband, working as a girl Friday. After moving to Bethlehem, she successfully owned and operated a party balloon business in Bethlehem before retiring as a department manager at the Walmart on Route 191 in Bethlehem, where she was employed for 20 years.
Family was most important to Louise and she found great joy and fulfillment in gathering her family around the dinner table creating cherished memories filled with laughter, love, and of course , her exceptional home-cooked meals. A talented and creative artist, she also expressed her creativity through her passionate pursuits in cooking, baking, and gardening. Louise's warmth, creativity, and love will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Carletta Corlette and husband, Ivor, of Bethlehem Township; and her treasured grandsons, Anthony Pucci and fiancee, Jessica Millheim, of Point Phillips, and Stephen Pucci and fiancee, Elizabeth Walsh, of Bangor; along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by a daughter, Pina Ann Pucci Bennicoff; and a half sister, Elvira Campagna.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held privately with family and friends. Arrangements and cremation care are under the direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., in the Village of Moorestown - Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: www. bensingfuneralhome.net.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the family in care of the funeral home.
