M. Heist Obituary

M. Leona (Flicker) Heist, 84, passed at Reading Hospital into the arms of our Lord on July 13, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Gerald W. Heist for over 50 years until Jerry passed away in 2022. Born in Reading on June 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Arlene (Pyle) Livengood and Harry Flicker. She was also predeceased by two brothers: Kenneth Flicker and Harry (Flicker) Dostman, and her sister Julia (Flicker) Tinkle. She is survived by her brother Douglas (Flicker) Rutherford, and his wife, Diane of Ohio. She is survived by her sons: Kerry Heist, and his wife Susan, of Oley; Steven Focht, and his wife Kelly, of Muhlenberg; and Perry Focht, and his wife Diane, of Fruita, CO. She has three grandchildren: Jeremy Heist of Bellefonte; Brad Focht of Womelsdorf, and Erika Focht of Lakewood, CO. Leona always put her family first. She enjoyed doing things for others, picnics by the pool, and singing. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Lobachsville. Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Oley, will be in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Pennsylvania. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of M. Leona Heist, please visit our floral store.
